Who is Jesus?
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: the promised Messiah of Israel, God become man, who came to seek and save the lost. Everything in the Bible converges on Him.
This question arose from studying Who is God the Father?.

What the Scripture says
He is the Word made flesh
John begins where Genesis begins: 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.' The eternal Word, God Himself, took on humanity. We beheld His glory.
He is the Messiah the Scriptures promised
The very first thing Andrew did was tell Peter, 'We have found the Messiah.' Philip said, 'We have found him of whom Moses and the prophets wrote.' The whole Old Testament, the Law, the Prophets, the Psalms, points to Him.
He is Lord
God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name above every name, so that every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The confession of the church, from the beginning, has been 'Jesus is Lord.'
Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
“Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
He is fully human
He was made in the likeness of men, born in the flesh, and in every respect tested as we are, yet without sin. He was hungry, weary, and wept. He is not a distant God; He is a brother who has walked our road.
but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross.
For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
He came to seek and save the lost
Jesus summed up His own mission: 'The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.' He did not come to be admired; He came to rescue.
For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Verses to meditate on
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
