Angels are spiritual beings created by God, ministering spirits sent to serve those who inherit salvation. They worship God, carry His messages, protect and minister to His people, and will accompany Christ at His return. They are glorious, but they are creatures: we are not to worship them.

Hebrews 1:13-14
As you read: Sent out to serve for the sake of those who will inherit salvation.
13But which of the angels has he told at any time, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?”
14Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
Psalm 103:19-21
As you read: Excellent in strength, obeying the voice of his word.
19Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens. His kingdom rules over all.
20Praise Yahweh, you angels of his, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, obeying the voice of his word.

Luke 1:26-38
As you read: An angel carrying God's message to Mary.
26Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28Having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!”
29But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be.
30The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31Behold, you will conceive in your womb, and give birth to a son, and will call his name ‘Jesus.’
32He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,
33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom.”
34Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?”
35The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God.
36Behold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.
37For everything spoken by God is possible.”
38Mary said, “Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word.” The angel departed from her.
Revelation 22:8-9
As you read: The angel refuses John's worship: worship God.
8Now I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who had shown me these things.
9He said to me, “See you don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers, the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to serve for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? Praise him, all his angels; for he commanded, and they were created. They are glorious creatures, but they are creatures, made by the word of God.

I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, saying with a loud voice, worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Angels who excel in strength, who do his word, obeying the voice of his word. Their first occupation is worship and obedience.
“I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands; saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!””Revelation 5:11-12

Gabriel flew swiftly and touched Daniel and gave him insight and understanding. An angel was sent to Mary with the announcement of the Christ. To Elisha: do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.

“yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening offering. “He answered, “Don’t be afraid; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Elisha prayed, and said, “Yahweh, please open his eyes, that he may see.” Yahweh opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.”2 Kings 6:16-17
When John fell to worship the angel, he said, do not do that; I am a fellow servant; worship God. Do not let anyone disqualify you by delighting in the worship of angels. Their service points to Christ, and our worship belongs to Him alone.
