As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings!”And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone on another, which will not be thrown down.”And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
“Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?”Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
Jesus, answering, began to tell them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and will lead many astray. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them. But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days! But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Pray that your flight won’t be in the winter. And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ don’t believe it.And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
“Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near; Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors. So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
Most certainly I say to you, this generationwill not pass away until all these things happen.Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
“It is like a man, traveling to another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Watch therefore, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning;Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
lest coming suddenly he might find you sleeping.Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
What I tell you, I tell all: Watch.”And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
